How do I support our favourite campsite through the winter (other than getting your favourite pitch booked, before someone else books it) well here’s the answer, I have spent this last week uploading billions of photos of our products to our eBay shop. You will find our beanies, blankets, (made by me) camping equipment and so much more. Just search littleroadway_camping on eBay.
I’m uploading new products everyday, so please make it worth my while because the shop is absolutely freezing at the moment and my fingers are getting frostbite!!!
This owl first made its appearance this time last year, very significant to us, and we haven’t seen it about much over the summer, but in the last week we’ve seen it loads and today I managed to get the most incredible footage Please watch till the end, it came to me and I shit myself!!!!
We are so lucky to have the wildlife we have up here! 🦉
I’ve tried my best to sum up this year but what a year, unfortunately it’s had more lows than highs. With suddenly loosing mum to being diagnosed with breast cancer.
But the big high was being told that I am cancer free, so you know what that means, I’ll be working full time next year and I am full of ideas and gumption!
We will be bringing back breakfast to the site, I will be in the kitchen whipping up loaded hash browns and bacon bagels. May even throw in the odd evening!!! There’s also plans for Christmas in July and some kind of crafting, wellness weekend.
Huge thank you to everyone that stayed with us this year we are incredibly grateful to you guys for keeping our small business going and helping us to do the job that we love.
We’ve discovered a new place to eat in Ilfracombe and, well we’ve been there a few times now, because the menu is so big that we feel like we need to try everything!!! The food is so good, lovely fresh sourdough bread is used for their breakfast and sandwiches, they have a great range of cakes, which we haven’t tried because we are always so full after breakfast/lunch so whether you’re looking for a full English breakfast, halloumi with a kick (or non kick for me because I don’t do spice!) or a yummy filled to the brim sandwich @johnny_cs_bar is the place to go, staff are lovely and it’s dog friendly.
So yesterday’s destruction really wasn’t bad as what was in our heads at 4.30am!!! In our heads it was full on Wizard of Oz, roofs flying around, coco loosing her little pig hut, pure devastation, however we got away lightly, some fencing is now wobbly, somehow some of the pod doors blew open, the three bigger pods, their doors ended up being ripped off of their hinges so we had to put them back up and screw wood bars to the fronts, this was a whole experience in 70mph wind!!
Thankfully all caravans on storage survived without any issues. My caravan Frida as you can see was rolling all over the place and came forward about a foot! Our huge water tank fell from the roof and ended up in the ground but it didn’t fall on anything so that’s good, it could have so easily have gone through the washing up area roof!!!
So this has been issued tonight!!! We all jumped when the sirens on our phones went off!! We have a red weather warning over us, but don’t worry we will all be staying indoors, with a toasty fire and lots of mulled wine!!
As soon as it’s safe to go outside we will be out and about checking everyone’s caravan and making sure that our pods and buildings have made it through without damage. Stay safe this weekend everyone.
Big changes happening in the village, the beachcomber cafe is being demolished!!! But don’t panic a new pretty, bigger building will go in its place and the Red Barn is being stripped right back and renovated.
3 WEEKS!!!!!!!! There’s just 3 weeks until Santa comes and sprinkles your house with presents!!!
If your still grasping at straws as to what to get your loved ones, then how about a gift voucher, you can choose as little or as much as you need, you know that the gift of a camping trip (or Glamping) is going to create way more memories than some novelty socks and a Terrys chocolate orange!!!
The rainbows have been incredible the last couple of days. There are only 4 days left for you to grab 20% off of your pitch, we don’t care if you use this discount on an electric pitch, non electric pitch, Glamping pod or even a bit more luxury our static caravan. But if you don’t book before the 1st December you’ll miss the discount and the prices will be going up, you can thank the government for that one!!! We have to put the prices up to keep our amazing wardens, we couldn’t have run the business without them this year and we definitely want them beside us next year.
Well we didn’t get any snow, but we did see some on our route to Exeter hospital yesterday! In fact the hospital rang me to say that they had had so much snow would we be able to get in, errrrrrr yes we drive a monster truck 🤣🤣 also it’s all link road and motorway for us!!!
