It may be quiet on site but that gives us the perfect excuse to crack on with job, first job is to remove the tyres and putting in some hedging to separate the pitches, over the next few years, these will become great wind blockers, just gotta hope they survive the winter!!!
The tyres have been put in the dog walk field so that they have something else to play on.

And just like that it’s September, evenings will start drawing in, it’s quieter on site and in the village, and September normally brings in some swell.
So let’s pray for more sunshine to keep the camping season going a bit longer because fire pits are a must during September.
Photo by @_harrywhite09 not sure how he does it but he gets incredible night time photos.

Well done to all the parents that have made it to the end of the summer break, you’ve battled your children for the last 6 weeks, you’ve fended off the ‘I’m hungry, are we nearly there yet, I’m bored, what are we doing today, and now, now it’s time to do something for you so ladies, LADIES, shouting so that those at the back hear!
We have our ladies weekend on the 18th-20th September, yes that means our campsite is closed to men (unless you need a chauffeur) where you can feel safe, unjudged and do as little or as much as you’d like.
We have teamed up with @jess_twydall who is now organising it all, there will be walks, talks, yoga with @coralmhawkins Pilates with @rebecca_louise_craft a sauna with @secret.saunas a sound bath with @thepaintedmermaiddevon @coach_lk_healthandwellbeing and @ajskitchen_woolacombe will be on site offering breakfast and evening meals.
This was last year’s group, we had a fantastic time, we’re all still in touch now.
So if you need that me time with your girlfriends, daughter or just yourself, get booked up asap, spaces are limited.

There’s a moment when you check people in and they use the words.
“Our friends, family recommended you”
This means so much to us, honestly the fact that someone has brought us up in a conversation about camping, that they thought, my friends will love this little site in North Devon, it means the world to us.
I get emails and messages all the time from ‘influencers’ who will tag us in a vlog, reel, story, post if I give them a free holiday, I absolutely hate this, don’t beg me or any small business for a freebie, if they want to invite you or send you something off their own back, fine, but don’t put a business in this horrible position of saying thank you but no (or bugger off! You freeloader!) these people are literally being paid to write a good review whether they like the place or not! Oh and don’t get me started on google reviews and the fact I’ve had several companies contact me saying they can remove any negative reviews (we literally get 1 bad review a year).
So keep shouting about us from the rooftops, tag us in your pics, share us with your friends and family because that, that makes us beam!

Yay it’s the bank holiday, are we excited, nope!
The weather’s been predicted as rubbish, I guarantee it won’t be as bad as predicted, but all I’ve done over the last few days is cancel peoples bookings and issue credit notes, it’s a really horrible way to end the season, August bank holiday is normally our busiest weekend of the year, but this year it’s our quietest one of the holidays ☹️
But it has given me an opportunity to start working on the shop and turn it into my Christmas shop of dreams!!!!

Saturday the 29th we will be holding an afternoon tea to raise money for @breastcancernow as a lot of you know I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024, spent a year having chemo, radiation and surgery and now I’m all clear, but without that treatment I wouldn’t be here, so if I have an opportunity to raise money for the charity I will.
So from 2.30pm we will be selling cakes and 100% of the money will go to Breast Cancer Now.

Best place to watch a Woolacombe sunset?
It has to be here, less than a 5 minute walk from site.
Aug 20
We are getting daily messages and calls as to whether we are allowing fire pits and charcoal barbecue, at the moment we are keeping this in force, although we have had a bit of rain, we don’t feel that there has been enough for it to be safe.

We’re back to work after a couple of days off, on our days off we try to squeeze in some activities rather than just doing the boring housework, catching up with washing etc
So on Monday we headed over to @storminateacup_18 for lunch, a cute little boat cafe at Watermouth harbour, it started off a bit cloudy but as you can see the sun shone we took the boys because they are doggy friendly and there’s some lovely little walks around there.
Storm in a Teacup is a lovely little hidden gem, it’s away from the crowds and they serve delicious food.

On Friday night I took one of the dogs for a walk on the downs and was engulfed in sea mist, crazy eerie but made for some beautiful photos, stupidly I was listening to a murder podcast at the time!

I’m sure just like me, you shat yourself when the government warning came through on your phone!
Although we have had some rain here and mizzle we are abiding the governments advice and banning all fire pits and coal barbecues, gas cookers/barbecues are absolutely fine as long as they are high off the floor.
Also we will be discounting a load of meat that we got in for this weekend so head to the shop for a cheeky cheap burger!

Huge thank you to @markclintonjohnson who took this incredible photo on Wednesday night. Just stunning.

Before, during and after.
We decided to close the shop for an hour to go and watch the eclipse over on the downs, it was so peaceful there wasn’t as many people up there as expected.

Wednesday the 12th of August people across the West Country will get their best view of a solar eclipse in nearly three decades when up to 95% of the sun disappears behind the moon.
The maximum eclipse will occur at 19:12 BST, before the event ends at 20:06 BST.
Because the eclipse takes place during the evening, a clear view of the western horizon will be key.
Being where we are you will have a great view from your pitch, but it’s also worth walking over to the downs and sitting up there to watch it.
