Another new baby, we’ve been waiting months for this girl to give birth, tonight it finally happened, one of our campers spotted it happening, so she got to name her, welcome Summer to the farm.
Oh and the black one that was born the other day, that’s been named Pickle.
General question, is it acceptable to arrive at a campsite and search for a pitch set yourself up anytime after 10.30pm?
Over the weekend we had a couple of instances one at midnight one at 11.30pm phoning us to enquire where they should go because they have arrived late and can’t get on site because our barriers are down!
Now the reason we have barriers is to stop exactly this, because we don’t want the whole campsite being disturbed by some one banging in tent pegs, inflating their tent or open and closing their swish bang door!
What’s your opinion on this camping etiquette, should people be able to arrive after 10.30pm?
We’ve got piggies again, meet Hannah and Hattie, they are bloody massive! Think Shetland pony. If you call piggy piggy they will grunt and squeak. They won’t get up though, lazy pigs.
I may have got a little carried away with my last order for the shop, but it’s given me an idea for the winter, although it’s not very beneficial for you guys that camp with us, it could be for the locals, I’m thinking……………………
A Christmas shop, there’s nothing in this area like this and I love Christmas so I can go full on grotto, what do you think?
Last year was our first vintage weekend and it was received so well that we are holding another one on Saturday the 4th July, everyone is welcome we will be having stalls on site, dog show and a vehicle show and shine.
The day starts at 11am with craft stalls, dog show at 2pm and show and shine judging at 4pm, we will have food throughout the day from @ajskitchen_woolacombe we are not charging for entry but would love you to pop some money in the @chemohero or @breastcancernow charity pot.
Officially obsessed with this style of reels and it’s a perfect way to get some opinions on a potential idea for next year, sausage fest, all things dachshund, a whole weekend dedicated to these barky arrogant little turds, if you own one you know I’m speaking the truth!!!
If you know us, you know that waste is something we hate, so I did some research about what I could do with fresh fruit before it goes rotten! Apparently dehydrating and pickling is the way forward, everyone loves a pickled egg with their picnic or a snack, the pickled onions are a perfect addition to those barbies.
The apple and banana makes a great snack and the dried lemon and limes are perfect for poshing up your g&t.

I am unashamedly boasting about our on site food truck, some of you know that I am gluten free, and there is nothing worse than going on holiday and struggling to find somewhere to eat that can cater to your needs, Ali from @ajskitchen_woolacombe offers gluten free options, when we discussed her coming up here with her truck my first question was can you do gluten free, she nails it every time, this is tonight’s dinner which was lasagne with garlic bread all of it 100% gluten free and tomorrow is pizza, delicious stone baked pizzas again with 100% gluten free option.
Oh and breakfast, she’s got that covered serving delicious soft gluten free baps or pittas with your choice of fillings, my favourite is spinach halloumi and egg with sweet chilli sauce, wanna chuck a sausage in there, you can because all her sausages are gluten free.
It’s such a breath of fresh air knowing that I can eat normally like everyone else and not feel left out.
And you don’t have to be staying with us to eat, everyone’s welcome, locals, people staying on other sites, day trippers, even stop by whilst out on a walk or cycle.
She also has a great veggie vegan range as well as the ‘normal’ range for those that don’t have an intolerance.
On our days off we took the boys to Westward Ho for walkies, if you haven’t been it’s about 40 minutes south from us, has a massive beach, we had to dodge the showers so grabbed a coffee from @sos_surf_coffee highly recommend great coffee and lovely staff, also got some fish and chips, didn’t realise they did gluten free until later. One section isn’t dog friendly, but the area that is is massive, but we decided to walk along Northam Burrows and stumbled across a really nice little cafe and visitor centre which was free and had activities for kids to do as well as lots of vibes and things found in the sea.
We are in uncertain times at the moment, businesses including us are really struggling, the bank holiday was the boost that we needed, but it has turned again and it feels like winter, we have 7 people on site, next week we have 2 days with no one on site!
We know this is not a reflection of our business, everyone in this area is feeling the pinch, costs have gone up on everything, fuel, food, utilities and it’s hitting people hard, so I’m here to say how much we really really appreciate every single booking that we get and every single customer that walks through the door.
We will do our best to keep holding on and make sure we are here next year.

Our next car boot is the 13th June from 11am - 2pm, bring along your homewares, clothes, old tent equipment, wetsuits, plants what ever you need to get rid of, and if you’re a crafter why not come along too.
We have all the good basis covered @ajskitchen_woolacombe will be serving breakfast baps and we have hot and cold drinks, ice creams and all the snacks you could imagine. We even have a pick n mix sweet table at the car boot.
Wow wow wow, what an absolutely incredible bank holiday and half term, we have been fortunate enough to have sunshine all week, every day has been a beach day.
We have had the most amazing campers on site, everyone has been so friendly and happy and we have had incredible feedback about the shop and toilet block renovation and the addition of @ajskitchen_woolacombe you guys have really made us feel proud of what we’ve achieved.
We are keeping everything crossed that this weather stays warm and keeps you guys coming down to see us.
Look at our pretty lupins standing proud and tall in lupin field, Simon and Bentley have worked so hard on the plants and bank in front of the family pods and it’s really paid off.
