You did it, you made it through January. The darkest month.
And now we’re in February summer is a step closer! This morning I woke up and could hear the birds singing away it instantly made me think of spring and summer. I’m so ready to open the site and start welcoming you all back, but first a holiday, we’re off to Cornwall for the week so I won’t be answering any messages, calls or emails for a week! (Yeah right who am I kidding the laptop has already been packed and the phone has been switched to my mobile, I never take time off really!!)
We had a sunny day! It feels so long since we saw sunshine and blue skies. Between physio and dentist appointments I managed to squeeze out and get a dog walk in.
Super windy out there, but we are tucked up safe and warm inside, there have been some horrific floods in some places, check out @dartsfarm post! But thankfully we haven’t had too much rain!
This view is just a 5 minute walk from our site and it’s one of my favourite dog walks, you can see deer, foxes, bunnies, the wild horses and if course more highland cows.
Not only is it a beautiful view of Woolacombe, Puttsborough and Croyde but also on a clear day you can clearly see wales and Cornwall.
What a beautiful weekend, we had more sun than rain so that meant we could really enjoy our days off with walks, bike rides and even some surf, not me, but Tim and Harry got out and freezes their nuts off 😂😂
Thought I’d give you a tour of the new kitchen build.
We have to knock down these 2 walls, and rebuild a wall at the front, pop a roof on the top, easy peasy! And just like the shop it is juts Tim and I doing this build. If you want to keep up to date with the progress keep an eye on our stories and YouTube channel, I upload timelapse shorts everyday on there.
Today we’re making the most of the sunshine and cracking on with the new kitchen. After posting about the new onsite food truck, a lot of you have asked if we’re still doing the pastries, pasty’s, cakes etc, yes we are, as long as we can get this kitchen done! Only 2 months to get it done!
Get this date in your diaries, we are opening on the 27th March and we are having a full event, because we want to show off our new shop, refurbished toilet block and introduce you to @ajskitchen_woolacombe
We have discounted our camping prices for that weekend non electric pitches from £15, electric pitches from £20. The shop will be open all day on the Saturday for everyone to see, we will have a full range in the shop, cakes, coffee from local roastery @horizoncoffeeroastery fresh milk from @milks_up, fresh bread from @thecrocodilebakery and lots of other fresh produce. Everyone’s welcome you don’t have to be staying on site.
Sunday we will be holding a car boot sale from 10am.
I’m so excited to introduce you to the latest edition to our site @ajskitchen_woolacombe run by Alison, I have known Alison for 30 years and she has so much catering experience, so you can expect the best yummiest food. She will be joining us for our opening weekend on the 27th March.
Alison will be serving breakfast and evening meals throughout the season weekends and school holidays (not 7 days a week, she needs at least one day off!)
Here’s what you can expect for breakfast, notice the gluten free and vegan options, yessss! Evening meals think, pasta dishes, chilli , jacket potatoes.

On New Year’s Day we went for a walk with friends to Heddon’s mouth, I’ve been to @thehuntersinn_heddonvalley once for food (about 17 years ago!) but I have never walked around here before. It’s just beautiful you have to walk through beautiful ancient woods where the river Heddon runs amongst the trees down to Heddons mouth beach. It’s a little pebbly beach surrounded by huge cliffs.
I will say it’s a bit of a mission to get here, narrow lanes, especially at the moment with one of the roads closed however we did notice cycle signs, so we’re going to load up the bikes and really explore the area.

We have decided to open our pods up to you guys over the next few months, because Tim and I are working on the shop renovation we aren’t going away this winter so we thought why not let out the pods, fully heated and toasty! We can’t open the campsite because the ground is not great, but if you fancy a cheeky weekend at a discounted price, you know what to do!
Can’t believe we did it, but we have completed our shop renovation, it took 31 days for Tim and I to transform our old shop, kitchen and stock room into one massive shop. We have knocked down walls, tiled, painted, palleted walls, plastered, learnt all the trades!
So so proud of what we have achieved and it looks incredible, however this is as much as you guys are going to see, because I want to show it to you in full glory, with all the stock. We are planning a grand opening the 27th/28th March the week before Easter.

Work doesn’t stop though, now we have the kitchen renovation!
Well here we are, ending the year and what an incredible year we’ve had, the weather was amazing, meaning we had a great season, so a huge thank you to all that stayed with us and keep supporting our little business. We literally do not have a business without you guys and we all love what we do so thank you all from the bottom of our hearts 💕 🥰
Well our Christmas was full of food and beautiful beach walks, but we are back to work today, gotta get that shop finished!!
